Programs: As a member of the Eastbrook Bands, you will have the opportunity to participate in a number of diverse musical activities.
CONCERT BAND The emphasis in concert band will be on the techniques of performance and musicianship, performing a variety of musical literature. We will perform at several concerts throughout the year, as well as ISSMA Band Contest in the spring.
PEP BANDS The High School and Junior High bands will continue to provide a spirit-filled atmosphere to support Eastbrook High School sports teams, and the community as a Pep Band. The Pep Band will perform at a few community events, all home football games (High School), and at both the boys’ and girls’ basketball games.
JAZZ BAND (High School) The Jazz Band will utilize traditional big band instrumentation: saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section consisting of piano, guitar, drum set, and bass. Traditional jazz, contemporary, and popular music literature will be studied. Emphasis will be placed on improvisation. Auditions will be held first semester, and performances will be during the Winter and Spring Band Concerts.
SOLO AND ENSEMBLE Students are encouraged to participate in the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest, which will once again be hosted here at Eastbrook! The purpose of this contest is to promote and encourage students to improve musicianship through solo and small ensemble performance. Music performed must be selected from a list published by ISSMA.
