My name is Madeline Henschen and I am the School Counselor at Eastbrook North Elementary. I am excited to be a part of the Eastbrook North family! I graduated in May of 2019 with my Master’s degree in School Counseling from Purdue University Fort Wayne. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, also from Purdue University Fort Wayne. I live in Fort Wayne and graduated from Homestead High School. I enjoy spending time with my family, I am a huge Indianapolis Colts fan, and I love to shop! I have nannied for the past 10 years and have a passion working with young children and helping guide them through any challenges or hardships.
I am looking forward to building relationships with the students, parents, and staff at ENE this year, as well as the community. As part of my counseling program, I will be conducting classroom guidance lessons and will be discussing various topics, such as friendship, self-esteem, bullying, and much more. I also provide short term individual counseling and group counseling (usually 4-5 sessions). Students can write me a note and put it in my mailbox outside of my door if they would like to talk to me. When students talk with me, anything they choose to share is confidential, EXCEPT if a student is being hurt, afraid of being hurt, wants to hurt someone or themselves, or knows that someone else is being hurt.
Please feel free to contact me at (765) 934-3551 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns about your student. I look forward to working with you and a great school year!
