Eastbrook Middle School Opening Fall 2021-2022

The Why?

“Some of those reasons include: providing a developmentally appropriate educational environment for our sixth through eighth grade students that is uniquely appropriate for their adolescent years, creating an opportunity for more flexibility in scheduling and course offerings for the students, the ability to offer co-curricular and extracurricular activities for our sixth grade students, as well as provide an appropriate transition between elementary and high school for our students.”  Superintendent Brett Garrett

The 6th grade will be split into two interdisciplinary teams (Red and Black) for Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science.  Outside of these teams 6th grade students will have a 9 week rotating class consisting of Art, Computer Skills, Introduction to Agriculture, and Physical Education.  The final course is an elective chosen by the student (Band, Choir, or Intervention Study Hall).  Students will also meet with a homeroom once a week to focus on social and emotional learning, organizational skills, technology lessons, and adapting to the middle school environment.
