Cell Phone Policy: Away for the Day
Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Eastbrook Community Schools Corporation will implement our Away for the Day expectation in accordance with Indiana’s new bell-to-bell device law (SB78). Personal electronic devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, AirPods, and similar devices, must remain powered off, stored in a locker or backpack, and inaccessible throughout the school day. This starts with the first bell, which allows students to enter the building, and ends with the final bell, which dismisses school for the day. This change is designed to reduce distractions, increase student engagement, strengthen relationships, and create a learning environment where every student can fully participate and succeed. Students with documented medical needs, IEPs, or 504 plans will continue to receive appropriate accommodations. We appreciate our families' partnership and support as we work together to ensure that Every Panther is Present. Every Panther is Engaged.
