2-Hour Delay Schedule for Professional Development

Posted Date: 09/01/26 (04:00 PM)

Good Afternoon,

What a great start to the school year.   We want to remind you of our monthly 2-hour delayed-start schedule for staff professional development. Our first delayed start will take place on Monday, September 14th.

The Purpose Behind the Schedule: This dedicated time allows our teachers, administrators, and support staff to train together. Our monthly focus areas include:

  • School Safety & Security: Emergency response drills, standard response protocols, and reunification procedures.

  • Instructional Excellence: Grade-level collaboration, state literacy alignment, and data analysis to support individual student growth.

  • Modern Tools: Training on classroom technology and safe AI integration to support student learning.

What Families Need to Know

  • Night-Before Reminders: Just like our notification process for weather delays, we will send an automated reminder the evening before each scheduled delay via text, phone call, and email.

  • Time Shift: All school start times and bus pick-up schedules will run exactly 2 hours later than normal on these designated Mondays.

  • Attached Infographic: Please see the attached graphic for a quick reference guide along with our district calendar.
